Indigenous Curriculum Enhancement Project Gallery

The Office of Indigenous Education (OIE) in partnership with the Teacher Education Office (TEO) is pleased to present this gallery of curriculum  projects that aim to enrich the curriculum of teacher education and graduate education with Indigenous perspectives, knowledges, pedagogies, and experiences. Funding to support these projects was provided by the Ministry of Advanced Education, Skills, and Training.

These projects focus on one or more of the following goals:

  • Supporting pre-and in-service teachers to address Canada’s Truth and Reconciliation (TRC) Calls-to-Action in their professional practice as emerging and established educators
  • Redressing the colonial legacy of schooling for Indigenous learners, families, and communities by attending to anti-Indigenous racism, anti-oppressive practices, and decolonization/Indigenization
  • Addressing the relationship of the United Nations Declaration of the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP) to the TRC commitments, which are both aimed at improving the rights and well-being of Indigenous people, through teaching and learning
