Fraser Valley and Lillooet Field Centre:

Our Fraser Valley and Lillooet field centres have been combined. Jennifer Anaquod, who has been the Fraser Valley field centre Coordinator, has agreed to assume the role of Coordinator for both centres and will be teaching at both field centres. In addition, Jennifer will be present in the Fraser Valley and Lillooet communities through partnership visits and advising responsibilities. We raise our hands in thanks and respect to DeDe DeRose for stepping in as Coordinator over the past academic year and providing great support to students. She is a mentor and leader who is deeply committed to advancing NITEP in this province.

Message from Coordinator – Jennifer Anaquod

Jennifer Anaquod is from Muscowpetung First Nation in Saskatchewan and has been a guest on Coast Salish territory for many years now. Jennifer focuses on tying traditional ways of knowing and learning into classroom activities and interactions with teacher candidates. Jennifer is thrilled with her current role as the NITEP Fraser Valley and Lillooet coordinator. As a NITEP graduate, Jennifer has been honored and humbled to be able to give back to a program that changed her life in such a positive way. She looks forward to watching the positive changes current NITEP students have on the educational system in the future. For Jennifer the best part of being part of the NITEP team is the sense of family and belonging it brings.
